There seemed to be many horses playing up. Gee-Gee training or rider training?

I felt sorry for the musician who had to drain his tuba in public.
Modern history
I do wonder when the true story of Charles and Diana will surface - I suspect I will not live long enough. Was the lady who should have been crowned yesterday simply chosen as a 'brood mare'? I suspect the heir to the throne could not have been born to a divorcee or another man's wife, so while Charlie boy ached for access to Camilla's knickers (in any form he could take...) Diana dutifully (and thankfully) produced the heir to our throne? After that she sadly became an 'inconvenience' to the Royal Family and Charlie's relationship with Camilla. A very sad and shameful part of our history.
So, why did Charlie marry Diana?

Why did Charles marry Diana? Because his uncle and his grandmother told him to. Simple as that.

Marry who you must, mistresses for lust.
Same for all royals everywhere, since forever.

I think Uncle Dickie had 'gone' before that? Didn't he want one of his ?daughters? to be the wife? PS Don't trust 'The Crown'....

From before the bash yesterday but now in retrospect, how many of us took the knee and complied with the request of the Archbishop?
The aforementioned cleric seems to come out with evermore outrageous suggestions for us peasants as he drifts away from the C of E, of which he is the boss.
Anyway, Neil Oliver sums it all up in his usual excellent way, it's all audio so's you can multi-task whilst listening;

As usual, it's on YouTruebe but for how long?

I thought that was for the pop-eyed, receeding chinned, crooked-nosed 'Furrin' Princess what you were told to marry With someone like Diana he should have been happy both waysFox wrote:Marry who you must, mistresses for lust.

By the way, I know the 'Harry haters' will huff and puff, but I do think he behaved impeccably over the coronation.

It seemed to me that curtseys/bows were mostly conspicuously absent as the King and Queen passed along the aisle - usually one sees a ripple of graceful movements keeping pace with the Monarch as they process.
Very few this time.

People are now mostly citizens, not subjects.
One presumes those curtseying/bowing consider themselves subjects.

Re: HM King Charles III
Many years ago, I was told by someone entirely unconnected to the royals, but who would know, that Charles had been paraded around many of the then-available crown princesses of Europe, but with no success. At the time, (late 1970s), there were a number of such ladies of suitable background, albeit with a different religious upbringing, who would have been acceptable, but none was interested.Boac wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 4:01 pmI thought that was for the pop-eyed, receeding chinned, crooked-nosed 'Furrin' Princess what you were told to marry With someone like Diana he should have been happy both waysFox wrote:Marry who you must, mistresses for lust.

There are many theories as to what happened to Diana that night and we mere mortals will never know the truth of it. Suffice it to say that it was extremely unfortunate...
