I won't try to cover everything, just a few highlights.

Libya, Aden, Gan, Butterworth for 2 months. Round the world courtesy of Ascot Airlines, Tehran as crew, New Zealand for 2 weeks for an air show, Nairobi as crew just because we could. Drove home from Cyprus via Turkey. Forces to visit most NATO HQ in Europe. A week in Oklahoma en famille, and before retiring a 4 week resettlement training in India.

Oadby! I was at school near there, 1955-1961. My school was said to have been founded by Warwick the Kingmaker but was actually in existence much earlier. Possibly some of the staff also...
Which school was that OFSO (Kibworth Grammar perchance)? My three English half-sisters were educated in Oadby, and my father worked as a statistician for Leicester University.

I have mostly pleasant memories of the place. Used to run for Oadby and Wigston and played a lot of rugby at the time. Also spent far too many hours in the Oadby Owl! ;)))

Had the pleasure of interviewing Rod Hull and Emu (who did all the talking) at Belvoir Castle (great name, rhymes with beaver) and also interviewed George Best for the Leicester Mercury.
My necessaries are embark'd: farewell. Adieu! I have too grieved a heart to take a tedious leave.
