Pigs can now fly

#1 Post by izod tester » Sat Apr 01, 2023 7:40 am

When I was a serving engineer officer my response to the question, "Could an engineer officer become Chief of the Air Staff?", Would have been "Pigs might fly". Now it is official, pigs have joined the avian species.
Congratulations to Air Marshal Sir Richard Knighton.

(Tried to post a link, but working from a phone, so couldn't get the syntax to work properly).

My congrats also.
I did a brief holding post during flying training as ADC to the top Support Command Engineer in the early '80s,
probably because I had an engineering degree.
He sat me in his in tray for 4 months, so I got see an awful lot. Summarise this, proof-read that..basically, educate yourself on how the RAF is really run.
I had no doubts he could have run the entire RAF very well.
His PSO, my immediate boss, was a very sharp supplier. I very much enjoyed how our three branches worked together well.
