Some Rare Good News
"Anjem Choudary remanded back to Belmarsh jail for another five months as a judge rules his terror trial will not happen until the New Year "
"Radical preacher Anjem Choudary will go on trial in the New Year for allegedly encouraging support for Islamic State.
It is alleged that between June 29 last year and March 6 this year, the 48-year-old invited support for the banned terror group Isil, also known as Isis or Islamic State, contrary to section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
It is claimed that he did this in social media posts on the internet."
The above is from everyones favourite Daily online news source

Re: Some Rare Good News
Call that good news?
According to my research, the aveage cost of detaining a prisoner at Belmarsh is almost £70,000 (oldish figures:2013)
That's pretty what £200 a day.
You can get a stay in a half decent hotel with meals for quite a lot less than that. And he will have access to leisure facilities and loads of other comforts.
Why is he not tried quickly but fairly, and if found guilty, deported? One way ticket not too expensive.

Export him to e.g. Syria where there are many who hold views akin to his. Couldn't give a toss where he was born. (I know that legally you are right, by the way, but I am like many fed up with tossers wanting to import alien views here)
There are many countries where he would find spiritual empathy but not much in the way of state support for being nothing better than a stirrer of hatred, without a proper job. Plonk him there. Let him find his own way back. Then deny him entry.

Re: Some Rare Good News
It seems to me that he is deeply unhappy to be living in a country ruled by common law, some of which dating from pre Roman times, passing by the Magna Carta and he wants a middle ages form of law to be applied, there where he happened to be born.
He had no choice over where his mum was at the time of his birth, but if he prefers a system of law based upon an alleged Prophet's interpretaion of the word of Alla, so be it.
The "prophet " was not exactly whity white in his behaviour.
Read the Koran.
It will chill your soul.
Ladies especially. Read what this work has to say about your role, value, place.
Those who do not want judaeo/christian or agnostic views to prevail have simple choices: shut the **** up or **** off

I rather think that his strange beliefs think that suicide is very naughty, unless you take a few dozen infidels with you. Then it's OK. Good, even.

More than a hint of truth in there. You want to be careful about locking him up where he can become a focus of do goodery and myths about his iconic status propogated.

Re: Some Rare Good News
A "suicide vest" could be "provided for him" but doctored so when he sets it off
It only blows a small amount of explosive inwards ?
Messy but the wanted result achieved.
Then he can "think" he took a few infidels with him but end up in hell.
