Ecclesiastical Duties

#1 Post by G~Man » Wed Oct 04, 2023 4:41 pm

Some know, others do not, but I am ordained in the "Church of The Latter Day Dude".....or more commonly refered to as a "Dudesit Priest".

Church of the Latter Day Dude

I have performed hundreds of wedding ceremonies when I lived in Hawaii, but now just do it for friends and family. My ceremony is non-denominational, very inclusive and is a great alternative to a traditional church wedding.

I performed two ceremonies last week, figured I would share:

This was Melissa and Brian and their 3 children.

We did a sand ceremony where each personpoured colored sand into an "appropriatly priced recepticle" for nostalgia:

This was the second one I did, a little more informal:

Well hullo there brother! I am an ordained minister of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Only performed one wedding this year, but six weeks later the couple are still married, so I must have done it correctly.

Nice dress, Gordy . . .

I would add that my sister (a Sunday School teacher) married the curate - later a CofE Vicar, so I have religion in my family . . .

I seem to officiate at more funerals than weddings these days. Even sadder: an increasing number of these for no fee, since they're friends...

They all look like fun, G~Man, as they should do.

Re weddings & funerals, when I first started selling my woodwork, many of the boxes were wedding gifts, or grandparents buying keepsake boxes for their children, apart from one coffin that the purchaser wanted to keep his wine in. Now it's mainly containers for cremation ashes. What next, I wonder.
