It just so happens that a box of dirt, mouse bedding and seemingly random curious bits found its way to our museum recently..
One item was interesting, a small wooden box with a few wires and two lamp holders, stamped on the box is "Air Ministry Ref 5A/1113 continuity tester". So I asked Ms Google and I found an interesting page of various (apparently) aircraft bits for sale, just put the reference number in your search engine and wonder at the delights you could spend your money on! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305620774254
It seemed every item was from a Spitfire or other WWII aircraft and that includes the box of electrical switches that were packed in 1948. My little box must be a very saleable item worthy of its 150 quid asking price and perhaps it is, especially as it is a continuity tester for adjusting ignition on Merlin engines! It is a wooden box with a battery compartment, two lamp holders, a couple of coloured windows over the lamps and three lengths of wire. Obviously a very rare item as we have only three of them!

Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.
