Re: Winter forecasts from the Daily Express
Nathan Rao is at it again today with his late January forecast in the Express, plus he says, "Artic misery until Spring". As someone here said, he's got to get it right sometime.....

My snow blower and shovel have remained in my garage unused since I got here. I know I shouldn’t have listened to that salesman

Re: Winter forecasts from the Daily Express
Years ago whilst doing some troubleshooting consulting for a car rental company database, I was given a 'snag list' of problems to look at with their programmers.
One of the problems was with booking of options, such as satnav, baby seats, snowchains, etc.
They had discovered that the 'snowchain', 'winter tyres', and 'ski rack' options didn't work for some places ..... such as Brisbane, Cairns, Miami, Cairo, Madras..............

One thing you can say for the French, when civilization falls they have less far to fall than everyone else.

Bitterly cold in N Spain and with a Tramontana blowing force 9. Days brilliantly sunny but chilly. Snow melting on local mountains. Back to theme. The Express seems to have two predictions posted at random. Either the Beast from the East is about to arrive, or it will be warmer than Greece. Have the Daily Express writers ever been to N Greece in winter I wonder...

Re: Winter forecasts from the Daily Express
In all fairness, most Excess readers probably don't know where Greece is anyway, so any comparison would be futile. Far better to keep it as simplistic as possible therefore to ensure no confusion on the part of the readership.OFSO wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 8:01 pmBitterly cold in N Spain and with a Tramontana blowing force 9. "Arctic Hell to blast UK ! Millions of Brits could die ! "
"Saharan heatwave to hit UK ! Millions of Brits could die ! "
"Hurricane to batter UK !..Millions left without power or water ! "
All the above rotated between statins , the latest miracle cure, and, currently and for some time now, an obsession with a certain event in March covered elsewhere.

At the risk of corrupting this fine aviation based thread with a video, KnC's post above reminded me of this classic old sketch about general Mediterranean weather forecasts.
Probably suits the places that the Ex-Ascots prefer.

Re: Winter forecasts from the Daily Express
Aboyne is a long way from London, so this probably escaped the Excess weather predictions attention....
