Just awaiting an email from a mate of mine who is both a big cricket supporter and also Irish, hopefully he’ll be to pissed to write much :))

England have now lost all 10 wickets in a single session four times since 2016, having previously not done so since 1938.

"All out for 85 against Ireland is probably the lowest of the low out of those," added Vaughan.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Ireland 24/6 chasing 182.
Like my Irish friend says about the rugby "Fear not, you can always trust the Irish to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!"

......... so it must be right!

One bit of trivia: this is the first time both wicketkeepers - Bairstow and Wilson - have bagged pairs in a Test match.

38 All out
Reckon the Irish should stick to getting drunk and writing obscure prose.

Well done England's bowlers. It was them wot won the match, both on the field and between the wickets.

As I sent that, Archer got him on the left forearm and Smith's eyes are watering.

Might slow him down.

I was watching Boycott on Ch 5 last night. Test highlights. They had over the mouth microphones which looked straight out of War of the Worlds. He was demonstrating how the batsman had got it wrong. I wonder how they ever got Boycott out. 😀

First time I have noticed the shape of the bat. (You don't see that on radio 4). Like a scoop, what difference does it make? Maybe make the bat wider so they don't catch an edge 😀 or narrower.

He usually was not out after running all his batting partners out :))

Fantastic passage of play yesterday afternoon, proper cricket 🏏

Fabulous day of cricket. Test cricket is truly the greatest form of the game.

Whilst many plaudits, correctly, are going to Archer for a superb debut let's not forget about a certain S.Broad. Having had, by his high standards, a mediocre 18 months he has remodelled his action and run up slightly to compensate for age. Wisely, he admits to having followed the lead of the great R.Hadlee in that respect. He looks back to his best and is the leading test wicket taker this summer - 17 at a shade over 20. Proving yet again what a quality bowler he is.

Bring on the 3rd test - should be interesting.

He's always been less than mediocre so any fleeting impressions of being a bowler are just that......1-91 ring a bell ?

Anyway, over on TOP, one of the chums thought it was amusing to be hit by a ball traveling at 95 mph.....the name Philip Hughes being beyond his understanding and likewise being hit by 5.5ozs of cricket ball traveling at that speed is a bit different to being hit by a bun in the Mess.

Proving yet again what a know nothing twat you really are. Yes, 1-91 rings a bell - those were Broad's figures in the second innings of the first test. Does 5-86 ring a bell with you? I'll save you the bother - those were his figures in the first innings of that same test. It is hard to think of a worse example you could have chosen or one that was easier to refute.

You bring your Marxist viewpoint into all you talk about. You dislike Broad for some reason so therefore you disparage his ability. The 450+ test wickets that he has taken are irrelevant in your tiny, closed mind. You don't like him therefore he is rubbish despite all of the evidence to the contrary. Everyone who knows anything at all about the game agrees he is a world class bowler but they are all wrong according to you.

I suggest that you leave this thread to those who understand and love this wonderful sport. Your contributions just serve to embarrass you.
