Fabulous game to watch. Mrs 4ma said yesterday that England could edge a win. Unfortunately, she's not very good at predicting six numbers on the lottery.

Somebody’s already got to Wikipedia :D
The Ashes is a Test cricket series played between Ben Stokes, umpires and Australia. The Ashes are regarded as being held by the team that most recently won the Test series. If the test series is drawn, the team that currently holds the Ashes retains the trophy. The term originated in a satirical obituary published in a British newspaper, The Sporting Times, immediately after Australia's 1882 victory at The Oval, its first Test win on English soil. The obituary stated that English cricket had died, and "the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia".[1] The mythical ashes immediately became associated with the 1882–83 series played in Australia, before which the English captain Ivo Bligh had vowed to "regain those ashes". The English media therefore dubbed the tour the quest to regain the Ashes.

I am of the firm opinion that the England & Wales Cricket Board should always have Headingley on Test Match rota when Australia are touring.

Something in the water, or maybe the beer, seems to affect the visitors.

Glad I didn’t have tickets for today’s play, even by Manchester standards the weather was s**t, Broad got a couple of wickets, bet K&C is happy :ymdevil:

I see Smith is in the 140's!

Time to get him out again.

Smith out for 211,and you lot do realise that he is the highest run scorer for the year, even after giving everyone else a start of 7 months owing to his suspension.

I would refer you to my post of 25 August 2019:
Root should resign.....another duck...awful captain.
I would now go further. He should be sacked immediately. Not required to take any further part in this test match debacle or the series.

Just put him on the bus at Chorlton Street back to Leeds.
