Interesting that Root has given his post-defeat analysis that England's bowlers bowled too short in the first innings of the latest Test debacle (no *****, Sherlock). Here's a thought, Joe - you are the captain so you could have mentioned this to them at the time and insisted they pitch it up a bit. Nice bloke, super batsman, should be nowhere near the captaincy.

Admittedly he’s a poor Captain, but the whole ECB setup is rubbish :((

Now there is the opertunity to sack and send home Root and Silverwood immediately, certainly before the last two tests take place and put someone in the posts of coach and captain who can do better. That should not be hard.

Sack'em and send them home? Yes!.. and make the buggahs pay their own fare to get back.

If the England team were a military unit, they'd deserve to be put up against a wall and shot for cowardice in the face of an enemy. I have never seen such an abject surrender to an opposing team. FFS, even Scotlandshire's cricket team could score more runs.

Surprised that some of the Australian members haven’t been on here yet, probably still laughing :ymtongue:

For information as several of my Aussie contacts have mentioned to me, England spent longer in quarantine (14 days) ,than The Ashes actually lasted (12 days), usually I would blame the Yorkshire contingent, but unfortunately Ian is no longer here to answer for them.

It's not nice to kick a man when he is down, might also add what did you expect when you sent your reserve squad to represent poor old Blighty :)) =))

Let’s not send home our only world class batsman. Strip him of the captaincy by all means at series end but there is no point losing his runs.

There are two, in effect nugatory, tests still to play and what would be achieved by keeping him there? The series is now dead for England and I suspect it is unlikely the other members of the England group (I won't call it a "team" because it isn't one) will produce a positive response. I can't see the Australians taking their boot off England's neck for the remaining tests just to save some English pride.

The England cricket team has officially beaten Wuhan street market for the worst use of a bat ever.

Root is suffering from massive delusions of grandeur.

He thinks he has something to offer to England as captain! 8-|
Glad he didn't mention as a batsman, after this latest failures. L-)

He needs outing.

Giles has gone, speculation is that Silverwood will follow.

Would they please take Root along with them.

Saw the team in the lounge at Barbados Airport. I only realised who they were as one wore an England cap. Most anonymous. I think had Compton, Botham, Boycott or Trueman been there would have been no doubt.
