I'm too depressed by the happenings in the Land of the Long White Cloud to think about the next English season.

Re: Cricket
I see England in general and Root in particular seem to have found out how to bat in a 1st class match.
But too little too late seems to apply.
I hope that they prove me wrong though.

RIP.
His 8 for 43 at Leeds was arguably a bigger factor than Botham's batting, in 'Bothams Test Match'.

Not really my cup of tea, but the Big Bash League in Australia starts Tuesday, live on BT Sport, starts at 8am, so fills the dark mornings quite nicely

Re: Cricket
Not these days. I am now about 120km south of Durban. And there isn't a test in Durban this tour.
When I lived in Joburg I went to Wanderers quite regularly. A nice ground for the general paying customer. In the Corlett Rd stand, you can buy a ticket for a seat behind the bowlers arm.
Usually the preserve of members.

Pity that you’re not down here Ian, I didn’t have any tickets for the Test, but have ended up with spares for the first 3 days
That hadeda spent all day on the outfield yesterday, must’ve been at MTOW by the close of play

Re: Cricket
What a great Test Match, managed to get tickets for all the days that I needed, paying face value every time and somewhere in the middle watched Liverpool Youth Team knock Everton out of the FA Cup, bet Ribrash enjoyed that unless he was busy throwing lumps of lead into the Mersey
Edit- wonder if MrsWoody will let me come back out for the PE Test next week

If you mean actually going to PE and needing a bed to sleep in, you will be better off waiting for the Wanderers game.Woody wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:14 amWhat a great Test Match, managed to get tickets for all the days that I needed, paying face value every time and somewhere in the middle watched Liverpool Youth Team knock Everton out of the FA Cup, bet Ribrash enjoyed that unless he was busy throwing lumps of lead into the Mersey

Accommodation in Joburg is plentiful. PE not so.
