Men against boys!

Watching the goings on at Old Trafford, England shouldn't be in this event.

Ireland, Scotland or Zimbabwe would have put up a better show,
A slight change =))

Well YJB does seem to bat more freely when he has Jason Roy at the other end.

Simply a confidence thing?

I’m sure Ian knows, but Australia 223 all out, hopefully England will bat properly and reach that total quite easily :-bd

Looks like England v NZ in the final. Long odds on that at the start.

Not from me, I always thought the NZ were the dark horses of this WC.

I know what you mean, but does not "dark horse" imply long odds?

I said, not off me.

You would have got better odds from a bookmaker, 'cos he would only want to balance his book.

It is not on SABC terrestrial service, only on satellite DSTV Channel 202.

If you don't have DSTV, but you do have access to WiFi, send me a PM.

Cricket Rant of the Day

I am very disappointed with all of the jingoism in the UK press.

Why don't people understand that limited over cricket is NOT 1st class cricket and is played under different rules?

Just because a batsman throws his bat and connects quite often in a one day limited over game is NOT grounds to play him in a Test Match.

In a Test Match there are no rules restricting a captain from placeing his field exactly where he wants them. He can also use which ever bowler, whenever he wants.

In a Test Match an opening batsman is going to start an innings facing the best fast bowlers with a field that includes 4 slips and a gully! They will gobble up any chances from loose strokes.
