Garces has lots of bad form in making poor decisions and should never have been refereeing the final. :-q The TMO failed to spot a forward pass just before an SA try. :-q The ref missed infringement after infringement by SA at one stage of play. However England made mistake after mistake, passing to nowhere, poor scrum control and failing under the sort of onslaught that gave them the victory over NZ the previous weekend. After all that, SA were the better team on the night and England deserved to lose. Some of the penalty rules need changing though - it shouldn't be possible to get three points after three points just because you have a heavier scrum. :-q

I suggest limiting the gain allowed with a scrum, say five or ten yards, after which the ball must be used. Ditto mauls.

I thought I read that the English scrum was 920 k to SA 900 K.

Quite right ribrash.

The SA scrum has been outweighed by all last 3 opponents...

The English were outwitted today...

Another pointer to England's poor performance then, if their scrum was heavier. If the after-match shenanigans about not wearing their runner up medals was because they were ashamed of their performance, that's one thing, but if it was just churlish behaviour then I think I'll go back to supporting anyone but England, like the Scots. ;)))

It took quite some time before England started turning up and acting like professionals instead of pissed up weekend amateurs (remember Tindall in Queenstown, Tuilagi in Auckland Harbour, and the Number 10 photo prank etc?), when other countries were sending teams which acted like professionals representing their countries.

South African air traffic controllers have guided out last night’s British Airways flight from Cape Town, South Africa to London Heathrow, United Kingdom with a special squawk. On 2 November, South Africa stunned England in the Rugby World Cup 2019 final with a historic 12-32 victory. Good reason for the air traffic controllers to assign squawk 1232 to the Boeing 747 (G-CIVB). Catchy 😉

Clever

LHR ATC asked American Airtlines to follow the 737 passing right to left, did they have the 737 in sight ? Not rightly sure what a -then new - 737 was, but we're right behind a little clockwork mouse down here. Pleez, Vee are not little clockwork mouse, vee are Lufthansa 823 bound for Frankfurt. Waal, have it your own way, but you look like a c;oclwork mpouseto me.

ATC... Lufthansa 823 is cleared for take off on 28 R climb and maintain 5,000 ft. change to 124.7 and Squeek 2846 !

I remember that Qantas were not terribly impressed in 2003 after England won the World Cup in Sydney, as someone decorated some Akes on QF10 with some( ok lots) of the commerative newspaper articles :-$

Following complaints made to the IRB (International Rugby Board) about the All Blacks being allowed to motivate themselves by performing the 'Haka' before their games, other nations were asked to suggest pre-match rituals of their own. The IRB Committee has now agreed to the following pre-match displays:

1. The England team will chat about the weather, wave hankies in the air and attach bells to their ankles before moaning about how they invented the game and gave it to the world, and how it's not fair that everyone still thinks New Zealand are the best team in the world.

2. The Scotland team will chant "You lookin' at me Jimmy?" before smashing an Irn Bru bottle over their opponents' heads.

3. The Ireland team will split into two, with the Southern half performing a Riverdance, while the Northerners march the Traditional route from their dressing room to the pitch, via their opponent's dressing room.

4. Unfortunately, the Committee were unable to accept the Welsh suggestion following representations from the RSPCA.
