Re: Rugby
There will be a lot of debate and criticism after the national disgrace of the last two matches! It looks like the opposing teams have trained and worked hard at countering the All Blacks' methods of play - it might not have helped having Ronan O'Gara as coach of top NZ team Canterbury Crusaders. Whatever, they have a lot of work to do now on rebuilding the team with new tactics, sorting out their best new players and dropping any who are over the hill or just not up to scratch. They are still a great team so this shouldn't take away from the great Irish and French performances.

Re: Rugby
Believe it or not, today's win gives me no pleasure...

We small winners from the Southern Hemisphere have always played beyond, and then some more, given our populations...
With respect to the Baba's a nod to us all down South!

Re: Rugby
The All Blacks are going through a bad patch after the Ireland tour loss, but the trainer kept his job. I suspect on the proviso that they won in South Africa, so think he might fall on his sword after this result. Assistant coaches were sacrificed after Ireland losses.
Only silly behaviour came from SA Player Arendse who kept challenging players in the air but red card will beep him out of play for a while. Beauden Barrett took a nasty head bump as a result - looked even like a possible neck breaking incident.

There will be a national inquest into the result which may well see the Crusaders' coach Robertson get the job! His track record is a lot better than Foster's.

Re: Rugby
I just watched the game - it was a good hard game and the Springboks closed the All Blacks down and were the better team on the day. Maybe the ABs' glory days are over, as more countries play better rugby, but I'll leave it to experts here to suggest what the ABs can do about that.

Much like how Eden Park holds mythical status for touring teams to New Zealand, so to does Ellis Park for visiting teams in South Africa. The intimidating arena holds over 60,000 fans and has played host to some of South Africa’s greatest moments – including the 1995 Rugby World Cup final victory over the All Blacks. The All Blacks record of five wins from 14 Tests played at Ellis Park shows just how hard it is to gain victory on South Africa’s hallowed ground. Richie Mo’unga said it didn’t get any bigger than a Test match against the Springboks at Ellis Park. "Nothing compares to it. For me, this is the pinnacle. This is where you want to be playing - against a team that is awesome,” Mo’unga said. "The noise, 60,000, the altitude, you feel the blood in your lungs, you can taste that but just understanding the history that has gone there before. It's a privilege to be able to have the opportunity to play at a place like that."

Re: Rugby
That must have taken some doing in that atmosphere, when all about them expected another failure. National rejoicing, public holiday etc etc.
Well done and let's see if the coach keeps his job!
