Looks like a Black Stork to me but I only got a glimpse of it sideways before it sat down
facing away from the camera.

I'll look back later and see if it is more visible.

Yes, it is, it turned around and Showed it's face / beak which confirmed it.

We get a similar species here called the Black Necked Stalk or Jabiru.
Lovely to watch then feeding.

This is a new one. It's very dark and it's amusing when a parent arrives to see all the gaping chick mouths suddenly appear.

I can count nine but I might have had a bit too much to drink.

What are they ? They look like Baby Great Tits but not sure what country they are in.

Anyone know for sure ?

Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside!

This is where I was born, dragged up and educated through WWII, now I spend my retirement and my pension here.

Thanks, glad my baby bird recognition skills haven't decreased since I left the UK.

I actually managed to catch a glimpse of the adult coming to the nest for about 4 seconds.

Are these the ugliest chicks you have seen?

http://pontu.eenet.ee/player/must-toonekurg.html

They have just got to the stage where they can stand full height but are a bit wobbly and spend most time on their elbows.

Thanks for that !

Some hilarious moments when the bears get it wrong.

I withdraw my comments about "ugly chicks" with the Black Storks - they've grown up to be rather elegant now.

Well, the bears are all tucked up now, dreaming of the salmon they missed.

Meanwhile, their cousins in Hudson Bay are gearing up for their feast:-
