London Christmas 2021

#1 Post by OFSO » Mon Oct 11, 2021 11:01 am

We are hoping to be in London over Christmas and what better excuse for an Ops Normal Lunch? The best restaurant we know is Fredericks of Islington, about two minutes walk from the Angel on the Northern line, and fitting as we last ate there with Capetonian so his shade will also no doubt be present. Let me know if interested...

I too will be headed to the UK for the Christmas / New Year break. Will be staying with my sisters---one in Stoke Goldington, the other just South of Lincoln, but not sure on which one when. I arrive in UK on Dec 22nd and depart Jan 6th. Did you have a date in mind?
B-) Life may not be the party you hoped for, but while you're here, you may as well dance. B-)

Well, if the food is not up to standard, there's the possibility of some light entertainment to distract one, apparently. :)) From Trip Advisor:

Horrific peep show
We was having a fantastic family lunch when suddenly a couple started to perform sexual acts on each other at the table, In view of the whole restaurant, there was a table of women out for a pre wedding lunch near to us and this couple, the girls complained which led to know result or resolution, we also see the manager laughing with the man of the couple.
This is not the way to deal with the situation and is not something you would expect from such a nice restaurant.

Fredericks is where the OFSOs and, Capetonians were Amused by the nerd and his amorata (temporary, fiscal) on the next table. Nothing lewd, just their relationship. Amazing how obvious the wearer of a Little Black Dress can be.

Love to but we will be here looking after the hippo's Christmas lunch.

Must be a London thing. We saw similar in Tiddy Dolls, two tables for two squeezed in an alcove. The other party were all over each other like father and daughter ages.

As it happens we left at the same time and for a laugh followed them to the Athenaeum. They didn't notice so we followed them in and into the lift. Still they didn't notice 🤩

Woody, I think Boris has rather buggered that plan. As for the Daily Wail, their illustrator seems to be a stranger to England though admittedly got Wales, Scotland and Central London in the right place.

Sorry, but I think we will be doing something else that day.
Been in data comm since we formed the bits individually with a Morse key.

Does he know we are actually all going to go to NZ for Christmas to try and cheer him up?

I could never tie the knots in the corners so I just walked along the piers looking at dirty seaside postcards! :))
