He is of the opinion that all the quarantine zones that have sprung up in Europe will be gone by end of June.
But does that mean that we can return to herd behaviour and crowd into aircraft, occupying every seat?

All they need to do is put a big tank of oxygen in the hold and de-pressurise the aircraft. :ymdevil:

Live Coronavirus and Aviation Committee on BBC Parliament now. I'm not sure how long I will be able to put up with it, but it is quite illuminating to see how those who are 'in charge' of our destinies behave.

Just been listening to the Minister for Transport, Kelly Tolhurst, obfuscating, blustering, dithering, and generally showing a total lack of understanding of the industry, in fact of anything.
What a complete and utter waste of space she is.

It makes me feel so old to see A380s being turned into beercans.

I've almost certainly still got the shirt I was wearing the day I heard that they were starting to cut metal on the prototype.

I remember when the idea of airline passengers sipping Champagne at Mach Two at FL500 was a futuristic fantasy.

I remember when the notion of men playing golf on the moon was a pre-wanking-age dream.

Now, it's all in the past.

Night-hawk to shite-hawk, and back again. That's about the sum of it.

Madam Ugli with her far too late quarantine measure is causing more grief.

Thanks Woody, signed.

My post # 11 in the "BA may not re-open LGW" thread might merit another thought? ~X(

No idea, but it definitely won’t be CPT, as they don’t fit, although there were plans to upgrade before the crisis, they can fit into Durban.

Yeh, well, Durban King Shaka was a vanity project for the FIFA World Cup.
A brand new, from the ground up airport.

I must admit as SLF it is a pleasure to use, but it is still grossly under-utilised.
We have made 2 arrivals and 2 departures there, both domestic.
Son made an international arrival there, with Emirates in Feb, and he was through customs and immigration in a flash. :-bd

SAA apparently starting JNB LHR on 01JUN, and BA LHR JNB and CPT on 01JUL.
It's in the GDSs, whether it will happen is another matter.

People arriving in the UK must self-isolate for 14 days from 8 June to help slow the spread of coronavirus, the government has said.
Travellers will need to tell the government where they will quarantine, with enforcement through random spot checks and £1,000 fines in England.
Home Secretary Priti Patel said the measure would "reduce the risk of cases crossing our border".
Lorry drivers, seasonal farm workers, and coronavirus medics will be exempt.
The requirement will also not apply to those travelling from the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
According to the Home Office, the new policy will be in place across the UK, although how it is enforced in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be determined by the devolved administrations.
Is this the latest example ever involving stable doors being bolted :-o

Shearings coach firm collapses into administration with 2,500 jobs lost and 64,000 holidays cancelled.
ABTA confirmed the vast majority were coach package holidays which are financially protected.
UK Breakaways, Coast & Country Hotels, Bay Hotels, Country Living Hotels, and Wallace Arnold Travel, have also folded.
The firm also runs Sportingbreaks.com, which organises trips to events such as the Grand Prix at Silverstone and Wimbledon.

The South Deeside road, and the distillery road alongside it, will be a much nicer place without those fuckking Shearings and Wallace Arnold coaches. :-bd
