From 'Time' re American Airlines:
"Travelers boarding American Airlines’ new fleet of Boeing 737MAX aircraft later this year might notice something missing: The seat-back entertainment screen.
The airline announced the change, which comes as more and more passengers are traveling with their own personal devices, in a statement sent to employees Tuesday.
“More than 90 percent of our passengers already bring a device or screen with them when they fly,” airline representatives wrote in the statement. “Those phones and tablets are continually upgraded, they’re easy to use, and most importantly, they are the technology that our customers have chosen.”
Good to see they are keeping up with developments.
Does anyone in the US read the news?

It must be the Pb in the water. The Americans seem to have gone mad or maybe it is the fact that a small stupid minority have managed to inveigle a foolish and incompetent cabal into power.
Anyway it seems that MAX may have bigger problems what with the LEAP engine issue noted last week although I note they are back in the air.

The seat-back entertainment screen.
Bugger it ! I knew there was something different the last time I flew Ryanair/EasyJet/Vueling..........
I loved this bit from Bloomberg: (they) cleared the planes to fly as long as they’re powered by spare engines Is this like a car's 'spare tire' and if so where is it kept ?

The EasyJet seat back entertainment is, of course, a picture of the food on offer.

food ? Wow. We dreamed of having food.
Last time I flew BA from Lux to Ldn I got a biscuit and a small bottle of wine. Slightly bizarre.
