Most importantly, as of 0400 Monday Monarch would no longer hold an AOC and all their crews would be 'unqualified' to operate.

Absolutely correct of course Sir.

Pretty sad and the end of what was obviously a decent company to work and fly for and their passengers liked them as well! I saw some of the cabin crew being interviewed on the day after they had stopped flying and it was tears all round. Hard to watch really!

I read that the 0400 announcement was so timed as to ensure that all 'assets' were back in UK and could not be seized by countries in lieu of debt repayment. If they had been used to repatriate their passengers there was the risk that each would have been seized or at least refused fuel and services.

Pleasantly surprised today, Called my bank last week and told them i had bought Monarch tickets with my debit card and could they try and recover the money. I didn't expect to get anything back but have noticed today that the money has been credited to my bank account..

Monarch's administrators have lost their claim on the slots at UK airports in the High Court.

Anyone know how many slots they’ve bought, wonder how they’re going to use them?

Rather late on this one but I was just wondering what fate the Britannia at Duxford will be facing, if I remember rightly the aircraft was on permanent loan from Monarch, another asset to be sold off by the administrator?

I'd say that the value of it as an asset depends on how much it would cost to move it elsewhere and what, if any, value it might have as scrap or some other use. Duxford's take would presumably be "OK, you want it back, come get it by X date or we'll start charging to store it".
