The coming single-pilot airliner

#1 Post by Boac » Mon Aug 27, 2018 6:02 pm

What happens to the F/Os? How do folk 'progress' from ab initio to 'commanding' the craft? Do you have to get the 'hours' somewhere else and if so, where?

They forgot to mention the dog.

Why not ? If pilot becomes incapacitated, all dog has to do is punch autoland button with his nose. Might not be good idea to recruit Yorkies for the job.

And for navigator, a setter. On routes over the former USSR, a red setter.

Didn't the septics train pigeons to steer a missile to a moving target?

It was a sort of visual ILS:- needle left = peck left; needle right = peck right. Needle up: peck up, etc..
