Thomas Cook Airlines for sale
Re: Thomas Cook Airlines for sale
The company has just reported a £1.46 billion loss. Bank loans have been extended, shares down 22%, not looking good.
In the last year share value has dropped from £1.46 to £0.18.
Blamed on political situation (=Brexit), people delaying decisions to travel, and so on.
I imagine that, like the EU's artificial currency, the company is too big to fail, and money is going be pumped in to keep it operating, but for how long? Is this just delaying the fateful moment?

The average UK household debt has been rising again since 2014. Outgoings exceeded income in 2017 for the first time in 30 years (ONS). Card spending increased 8.1% in the last year (UK Finance). Up to 8.3 million are currently unable to pay off their debts (NAO).

Thomas Cook shares "worthless"
Only a corrupt auditor could say that Tommy Cook is anything other than worthless. So forget anything that Ernst & Young say, but do take note of the euphemisms they use: such a "material uncertaincies".
CitiGrope is somewhat more honest in its appraisal. They point out that the massive debt of the firm cancels the equity value and therefore the value of the outfit is zero.
Zero.

Sensible chap! Share price, if you can find a sucker to buy the crap, is today around 14p.
