Flybe listening to GPWS hard warning?
Following the suspended pilot's e-mail to the "management" are we now watching the Flybe board sitting listening to the hard warnings and waiting for some miracle?
£2.8 million seems too good a bargain to be true!!

When all else fails, read the instructions.
Re: Flybe listening to GPWS hard warning?
Having listened to Christine Ourmieres-Widener I think that she is to aviation what Mrs May is to politics.
For an airline that is losing 20M per annun to concentrate on introducing more women to senior management and board level and "rebranding" is rather missing the obvious, but incredibly she is still there in position.

She is French, what would you expect?
Flymaybe has never been a more appropriate name for this charade of an airline.

Their boss being paid total of £920,000 in fisrt year.
That's a good start for a rescuer of company costing £2.8million?

Maybe airline management would be well advised to lay down on the railway track with their ears to the metal and listen for the sounds of approaching train?
But they're probably not sharp enough to get out of the way in time!!

This January, one employee was moved to send an email accusing the firm's directors of ruining a profitable company.
The employee, a senior pilot, addressed the email to Flybe's chief executive, Christine Ourmieres-Widener.
"Congratulations, in two years at Flybe you and your fellow incompetent cohorts have managed to totally destroy a viable airline which was making profits when you took over," he wrote.

Re: Flybe listening to GPWS hard warning?
And now Simon Calder says cancellations due to "shortage of pilots"!!
Don't forget Christine, you've got one spare but you'd forgotten he's suspended for speaking his mind!!
Time she and all the other arrogant airline CEOs read the "Bone to Pick" posting and paid some attention?
Anybody read the book "The Corporation" or watched the Channel4 film on the same topic??

I wonder if it was a BST roster cock-up?

Boac, surely in that case it would have become evident on last Monday morning or even Sunday?
Apropos of nothing, I doubt if I would boast my experience as an Air France ground engineer and in particular a former AF Concorde ground engineer........

Sometimes, just sometimes, an airline deserves to fail.
Flymaybe deserves to be put to sleep.

Re: Flybe listening to GPWS hard warning?
After considerable ferretting I've discovered the reason for Flybe's difficulties!!
Is C G real or a 'bot??

Then scroll down to the Dept for Transport contribution.
I hope it doesn't ruin your breakfasts?!

Failing Grayling is involved in the Newquay fiasco?
Imagine my surprise that the passengers had to be ferried by bus!

Re: Flybe listening to GPWS hard warning?
- well, it can take a while for lots of 'roster changes' to filter through and produce 'opposition'.BM wrote:Boac, surely in that case it would have become evident on last Monday morning or even Sunday?
Not sure I would use the word 'bot' for 'Ailing', but similar..............

Re: Flybe listening to GPWS hard warning?
It's been an odd spring in UK and now a revisit by winter.
Could be quite a few CC & Flight Deck are having colds and hence problems clearing their ears with pressure changes.
I doubt if even the best ENT surgeon/specialist in the land can differentiate between those who have genuinely blocked eustachion tubes and those who don't.............
An excellent sicky which, if real, is critical to crew fitness but which is easy to simulate.
P S. I have NOT used this technique in the past ! ! ! ! !
F A O Admin. The time shown on my posts appears to be adrift but my HAL is on BST????

Barking - - I don't think the PHPBB forum software has a function for BST changes, so what is set in your User Control Panel will be your 'time'.

Re: Flybe listening to GPWS hard warning?
Thanks boac, as a wrinkly silver surfer I'm currently in transition.
NOT a gender reassignment but trying to update neurons from M'soft Windows to the Apple crumble so things go slow or not at all sometimes.
Changing freq, I believe I heard on radio on 1o'clock news that Flybe's difficulties now attributed to the worldwide shortage of pilots......
Watch out major carriers, you're next ! ! Oh, I forgot, they don't have their ears on the railway steel....

Re: Flybe listening to GPWS hard warning?
Son was advised last night that his flight with Flybe MAN to STN this evening would be retimed with departure delayed by 40 minutes.
Flight actually departed as per original schedule and arrived in STN a few minutes early.
