In the 60s chhildren's programme "Captain Scarlet" the Spectrum Pursuit vehicle was driven from a rear-facing seat at the back of the vehicle using a video monitor and camera to see what was in front, so I don't see why the flight crew couldn't have the same.

On the VC10 when night flight deck visits were requested the passenger often ended up in the rear bog wondering where the pilots were. =))
