My German chum tells me Lufty are burning one million euros every 90 minutes, and won't ever operate their A380s again.
Grim.

Pleased to hear your good news btw Woody.
I can tell you first hand, employment prospects for pilots are slim indeed...

Has breakfast this morning with some of my former ex- colleagues and they’re on their 3rd contract offering, first the WW fire and rehire one , which was wrong and rescinded, then another WW fire and rehire which was withdrawn when the Union and the Company came to the agreement which gets me back in , but is so complicated and misleading nobody’s quite sure if they’re better off or not and naturally BA don’t seem to be sure themselves, so at the moment we’re all confused

Ha WW couldn’t get rid of me
Thank you for submitting your interest to join the Community Retention Pool (CRP). I am pleased to confirm that we will now be progressing with the implementation of the Community Retention Pool as per the details set out in the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) previously shared with you.
We will shortly be sharing with you a variation of your contract as per the MoA and a new settlement agreement which must be signed to complete your return to the CRP.
In the meantime, I can confirm that you are no longer expected to return your British Airways items including your pass to the LINK as previously detailed in your leavers process. For those that have already returned items you will be contacted by a member of the Airport Support Hub who will facilitate the return of these items to you.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

That is the good part. On the other hand, who wants to get in an aluminum tube with the infested masses and go somewhere only to be potentially locked down.
I have my retiree benefits but nowhere to go that is desirable at the moment.
One of my goals is to visit all of the Major League Baseball parks but none allow spectators. Same with many aviation museums that are on my list.
Here's hoping that the situation improves soon enough to do such things.

I once spent 3 weeks in a hotel over the road from Fenway Park.
The traffic was h*ll on game nights.

I’m aiming for the end of October, when I’ve hopefully been able to sort a few things outWhen can we expect you in SA?

Re: Impact of coronavirus on aviation industry.
I did get to check Fenway off of my list a few years back on a long layover.
Tickets hard to come by reasonably. Scalpers wanted $100 for "cheap seats" and $200 for good ones.I got lucky and got one for face value, ~$60 in the outfield.
I want to go back to try to get a little more immersive experience.

I wouldn't bank on it as the borders are not fully open to non-Africans. They have compiled a Red List of countries with higher infection rates which includes the UK and is to be reviewed fortnightly. So no one from the Red Listed countries can enter as a tourist. Sorry.

Thanks, but I had spotted that and that’s why I’m aiming for the end of the month giving me time to see what options I have, maybe as a property owner a resident visa?
Did you notice that China and Brazil aren’t on the list

Re: Impact of coronavirus on aviation industry.
Brazil added in the updated list!
Can you get in as an 'investor'?
You should also worry about getting back into the UK if things go pear shaped here.

Ian
The only things that I’m waiting to get sorted out then is the UK government, the ZA government and BA management, what’s to worry about
Noticed Brazil had been added.
Here’s my latest CRP update from BA

Dear Paul,
Following on from my communication last week, I just want to assure you that the team are still working on finalising the details of your new settlement agreement and variation of contract to join the Community Retention Pool.
We hope to have this with you next week and shall let you know if there will be any further delay.
Best Wishes,
When all else fails, read the instructions.

No Bail-out From Administration
American and United laying off 32,000 workers. Don't know about Delta, Southwest, and the rest.
Grim times!
