His lack of knowledge is embarrassing, but at least yesterday he managed to keep the hyperbole down to a minimum, some of his Youtube commentaries would shame a 7 year oldCremeEgg wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 9:02 amThanks for that G-CPTN - so much better than the BigJetTV effort. I deliberately avoided BBC ITV Sky as I knew even their aviation correspondents would be full of errors. So like a fool I tried BigJetTV. For a guy whose Dad flew Mr BigJet knows little about aviation and clearly does little if any homework especially when he is presenting a special on one subject. His "commentary" was, as usual, full of factual errors and exclamations that a 7 year old might be proud of. According to Mr Big Jet the only difference that he is aware of between the 747-300 and 747-400 is the stairs switched from spiral to a straight flight. No mention of the most obvious to me - the now two crew flight deck, the extra fuel in the tail or those wing tip extensions and most obvious of all the winglets. A few seconds on Wikipedia would have tripled his knowledge. Sorry, should be on the rant thread.

Does anyone know the final destination of the FSW and which organisation will be responsible for dismantling and disposal of toxic waste?

Last ever BA 747 flight is planned for today, depending upon an engine change.

Interesting fact, Catherine Burton started her flying career with PaWoody at Cambrian Airways.

Re: BA To Immediately Scrap 747s.
What is happening, or has happened to the 747 drivers?
Are they being laid off, offered early retirement? or training on other a/c types? The state of the business, I shouldn't imagine that paying for such training is a popular option with the BA bean counters.

Combination of these especially as the 747 fleet was due to be pensioned off over the next few years anyway by approximately 8 hulls a year, some have gone into a holding pool for two years and these have been furloughed again.ian16th wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 3:52 pmWhat is happening, or has happened to the 747 drivers?
