My attention has been drawn to this venture which is new to me. Apparently aided by 'Historic England', restoration of this first world war airfield is well underway.

North of South Woodham Ferrers in Essex, it looks interesting.

Anyone been?

Multiple times. You can fly in in summer too. The Bradwell nuclear power station is a good landmark. Just don't overfly it. Grass runway and somewhat bumpy. PPR.

It is a wonderful place, being the best preserved World War 1 airfield in Albion. The folks who run it deserve all the help and support they can get. TGG ***** rating.

Bianchi Film Services keep all their flying WW1 replicas and other aircraft there as well.

Looks well worth a visit when/if I visit Maldon to visit my sister. Shame they hadn't started this project when I was a sprog. :D
