Never heard of her but then, as my wife tells me, I am a dinosaur.

Oh how awful. I am so sorry. I had the pleasure of meeting her when she lived in Halstead. A lovely lady whose formidable will to succeed and continue flying the Spitfire after her husband died is the stuff of legend.

RIP

Sorry, talma - I misspelt her name. Well known in aviation circles. http://airleasing.co.uk/?page_id=24

Apparently her son Richard is very seriously injured too. One's thoughts are with the family.

I am reading that the accident occurred in Goulburn, which was the focus of a sheep conversation here recently.

Richard Grace

I am getting mixed reports about her son's condition. I hope he is on the slightly injured list.

Minor injuries and released from hospital apparently. The loss of Carolyn Grace is a major blow though. I never met her but she has been a fixture of the warbird world for as long as I can remember. Blue skies Carolyn...

I booked Nick for our Air display. All the other Spits came for free fuel and no cash. G-Fire was going to Scotland so was very happy for an enroute top up.
Nick however, based at Southampton said he would have usec all his free fuel just going home. We came to a private arrangement, free fuel and £195.
Next year he was killed and Carolyn took over. Saw her at Battle Proms a few times.
