Strange Happenings at Aer Lingus

#1 Post by tango15 » Wed Apr 12, 2023 11:11 pm

Yesterday (Wednesday), the scheduled EI 133 Dublin-Boston flight diverts to KEF whilst midway between Iceland and Greenland and is parked on a remote stand. Nothing too special about that, but then an A320 is despatched to KEF, spends about 90 mins there, and returns to DUB. Presumably with a relief crew, plus maybe engineers. Then the A330 files to return to DUB (presumably empty) about an hour later.

So what have they done with the pax? Hotac for the night while they find another A330, or transferred to Icelandair, assuming seats available?

Wouldn't they need the/a A330 in BOS to fly the pax to DUB?

You would think so, but no signs of a 330 positioning to BOS either. It's all very odd...

The A330 is still AOG at KEF. Current info shows a flight planned departure for DUB at 1800

BOS pax probably rebooked on AA,BA flights via LHR or other airports.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Poor old Lingus are not having much fun with their A330s:
