Trumpet's mate now saying it were his mates, the Syrians, but it was Israel's fault - of course.
I wonder if anyone told him people get hurt in wars?

Re: Score one! Let the fun begin.
Quite apposite really that F3, who knows of what he speaks, so recently opined:
Three Rules of Air Combat
1. Do something unexpected and aggressive
2. Cheat
3. What rules?
The Yehudies pulled a fast one on the Russkies/Syrians.
They flew a curved ingress track along the extended centreline from the SA-200 SAMsite through the Coot-N's position to complicate a SAM launch. Nice one!
Skittling the Coot was merely a bonus ball.
The Syrians and Russians really need to get their deconfliction procedures together. Then they need to deploy a coupla dozen S-400 clusters to defend their airspace from the usual suspects. Then they need to sort out their ECM countercountermeasures so that friendly IFF signals do what they say on the tin.

Re: Score one! Let the fun begin.
Sneaking along covered by a handy non-player; very cheap trick, definitely not cricket, wouldn't dream of it, never done that....
....OK, yes.
e.g. Had to take a broken jet back to base, low speed due to air con failure, during a TLP exercise over Northumbria. The route took us over the exercise area. Just happened to bimble along under the Edinburgh to LHR shuttle, providing air picture to our low level CAP and taking the odd pot shot.
Dastardly Bastardry!

Re: Score one! Let the fun begin.
So...how would you have cheated?
p.s. Bet the Coot, since it had no in-theatre threats, was flying a predictable flight profile and recovery. Probably a routine ELINT profile and a similar flight time.
So, note take-off time, wind up the mission, launch when the Coot turns for home and time the weapons launch point to be under the Coot on its recovery. The fighter flight time from Northern Israel to probable launch point (assuming they were using something like Popeyes) is only around 12 minutes.

You could try
Re: Score one! Let the fun begin.
I bet that nice Mr Putin isn’t a very happy bear at the moment what with the world laughing their cocks off at the incompetence of his security agents tourism agenda.
Re: Score one! Let the fun begin.
Yes - whoever 'engineered' that idea will probably by now be at his/her holiday home in Siberia.
