Re: SpaceX
Along with all of the Hi-Tech kit, isn't it satisfying to see that way up there, they still depend on red and green nav lights? So they know which way round they are?

Re: SpaceX
How do the astronauts exit the capsule onto the ISS?
I assumed that they would go through the nose, but obviously that is totally wrong.
When they aborted on Wednesday, it took about an hour before they got the capsule hatch open (I reported at the time that there appeared to be a 'problem' as they had to remove several components from within the 'flap' on the door).
I would have thought that when they 'splashdown' that the exit would have to be 'quick'.

Re: SpaceX
Watching the ongoing activity after docking, raises many questions.
One raised by my grandson was where does the ISS get its oxygen - the answer is electrolysis of water, which leads to the question where do they get the water - probably by purifying urine.
My question is how did they establish the 'environment' whereby a spaceship carrying humans could dock (and survive) before the mechanisms for ongoing survival were up and running - such as power generation (Dragon is now receiving power from the ISS).
The docking procedure relies on a human to operate the airlock hatches etc.
Another question - if the docking had been unsuccessful, what provisions does the Dragon capsule carry to support the astronauts for their return trip to Earth?
The guy opening the ISS hatch appears to be wearing 'freshly-laundered' clothing - how do they 'wash' clothing?

Re: SpaceX
The two guys in the capsule are assembling the 'rubbish' to be discarded, but are scoffing the remaining food supplies - it reminds me of the clean-up operation by the priest to dispose of consecrated bread and wine after the communion service.

Just watching the difficulty controlling the hand-held video camera - 'steadycam' doesn't work in zero gravity!

I watched most of the broadcast coverage, and AFAICT there was no mention of the POTUS.

Re: SpaceX
Several of his misbehaviours are difficult for an investor to forgive. I've choked on my cocoa-soaked digestive biccies several times when reading his public pronouncements.
With a major success like this, I'm inclined to give 'im a hug, in a nice way.
He really is a remarkably clever Sarth Effrigan / Septic innovator.
I won't be buying any SpaceX shares, but I won't be selling my Tesla shares either.

Re: SpaceX
I see that poor Doug Hurley managed to bump his head immediately after the successful docking!
From the Wail mind you.Back to space with a bump! US astronaut Doug Hurley bangs his head as he enters ISS moments after docking. US astronaut Doug Hurley appeared to bang his head as he entered the International Space Station just moments after docking Sunday.

I did. Unintentionally and non-expressively.
He does have an air of civilisation about him which is quite unAmerican. I associate with that.

Lost a lot of respect for him over that sad episode but SpaceX as an organisation are to be congratulated on this coup!

Yup. He did make an arse of himself over that. An utter dick, actually.
Nevertheless his car and his spacecraft are truly brilliant!
