Sounds like the engineers saw some parameters that went out of whack!

I had the pleasure of watching a Shuttle launch in situ back in the 90's. The observation point was some 4 miles away from the launch complex and the ground was vibrating and the boosters so bright it was almost impossible to look directly at them. Extraordinary and never to be forgotten.

Good luck to this team and all power to NASA, now back in the game...

We had a tour of the place while Atlantis was on the launch pad for the last time. One place we stopped, the tale was told that early on in the Saturn V tests, they'd had some equipment with a generator at that place and the noise vibration at launch destroyed it, so they had to rethink everything. There are reasons people are a kept a long way away.

The Virgin 'orbit' air-launched rocket is now in low orbit and soon to release some satellites for customers.

Things are getting busy up there!

I wonder if a collision could spark an ongoing series of collisions?

Meanwhile the Chinese, threw some more satellites into orbit on the 19th....
The launch of the Tiantong 1-03 communications satellite on Tuesday (Jan. 19) marked the start of a very busy year in space for China.

A Long March 3B rocket lifted off at 11:25 a.m. EST Jan. 19 (1625 GMT, 12:25 a.m. local time on Jan. 20) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the hills of China's Sichuan province.

Just under an hour later the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), China's main space contractor, confirmed that the satellite had been successfully inserted into geosynchronous transfer orbit — a path satellites take to reach a geostationary orbit high above the Earth.

In the following weeks the satellite will reach its intended position in geostationary orbit. At an altitude of 22,236 miles (35,786 kilometers), the satellite will orbit at a speed which effectively keeps it fixed over a point on the Earth below, making such orbits very useful for providing stable communications services.

SN9 has hit a stony patch. After the brilliant success of the Falcon launch and recovery, three static fire tests were aborted yesterday.

SN9 static fire test completed today. Will it launch next week? No notified road closures yet at Boca Chica.

I don't think they do anything at Boca Chica over the weekend due to the necessary road closures which do not happen at weekends? Where did you see that?

EDIT: Further looking says it is Transporter 1 launching from Canaveral

(Make sure Jo Biden doesn't see your posts =)) )
