Engine failure on leaving the ground

An interesting practical demonstration of engine out on lift-off and subsequent recovery of a rocket. They determined that one of the main engines shut off about a second after launch.

Good job it walked the way it did! Looks like it followed the engine-out procedure down the valley before climbing away =))

Goes to show how far rocket guidance and engine technology has come on in the recent past. This engine out incident would have resulted in a total failure and destruction of the rocket not so long ago.
