This happened at 2000 BST. The pilot died in the accident. According to a report there is no helipad on the building.

Reports say the tops of skyscrapers were shrouded in mist and low cloud. Sounds like a repeat of a similar crash in London a few years ago.....coincidentally that was also an A109,

Doesn't look to be any flat surfaces up there. All sorts of HVAC structures, railings and ductings sticking up. Might have made a decent approach but just toppled over on touchdown. Looks like it may have dropped inverted into a 15 foot deep gully, if you will, between rooftop structures, and caught fire on final impact. It appears to be the worst of the nearby buildings, all but one other have some clearly flat surfaces, so I would assume it was all he saw when he dropped out of cloud. Unlucky.

The beginning of the video shows an almost vertical nose down descent out of cloud followed by another excursion into cloud at the end. Apparently it hit the building at "high speed". A report says the pilot had been stuck at the heliport due to the bad weather and had taken advantage of a break in the weather to return to his base. The report also says he was not qualified to fly in cloud.

A case of the classic "suckers gap"?

Looks "classic" to me!
Is that herd of new restrictions I see thundering towards me?
