Amazing, as you say - he was not even parked in the white box. Definitely crew error.

Took place in Seth Effrika. Can’t tell if it was a kaffir at the copter controls or not.

Dumb place to park it. No cordoning off that I could see.

Yes, I was looking at it and thinking that at the very least there should have been a couple of bods doing ground ops to keep traffic clear of it. Although that might have been considered a suicidal job given how people drive in some parts of the world.

Plenty of space to land and take off there - it wasn't a public transport operation. There should have been a marshaller in front of the aircraft and someone directing the traffic behind. The pilot (in the right hand seat) couldn't see what was happening behind so altogether a Grade A f*ck up!
