Yep----one of my favorite places...rainbows everyday... I flew barefoot for 7 years, did not even own a pair of shoes...
Incidentally, this is what happened to the helicopter used in Jurassic Park movie---happened during an FAA checkride doing an un-authorized stuck pedal maneuver:

Lifestyle was for sure "laid back".... To this day I do not own a watch. I still go back and visit doing "meetings" during the off-fire season months.

Bored sitting in my office....will try to post something fun once a day---this was a few months back ferrying a Jet Ranger to Los Angeles from Northern California, took ann old friend with and he had never flown by the bridge so we detoured a little....

With all the unrest in the world, this is what I did last week....one ferry flight, (bringing my 205 back up to Northern California), and gave a 212 annual ride to one of my pilots. Pick away with questions---there were many on Reddit.

Isn't there some confusion having different instrument layouts side-to-side?

Please forgive me G~Man if you have answered this question before, but what are your gnomes' names and, most importantly, are they type rated on the 205 and 212?

I trust my questions are not too gnomic in their intent.

Typically we only fly from the left seat when on contract, and the important gauges are in the door frame, so not really that bad.

Their names are Timothy & Tabitha...see here for their Instagram thread https://www.instagram.com/timothy_tabitha/ , and yes they are trained, although I can only find their S-76 certificate right now...

That is interesting. Being a non-believer in the theory of rotating blades and Jesus bolts I was partially converted by a priest of the faith and he told me that 'Captains' always flew on the right for torque reasons. Like a good 'trainee' convert I believed him. Now you come and shatter my faith.

As a Goblin I am delighted to hear that our distant cousins the Gnomes are so well habituated to flying multiple types of helicopters. Maybe there is some hope for me too!

So, figured I would resurrect this thread as I just flew one of my 407"s from California to Calgary. What should have taken two days turned into an 8 day trip due to weather etc.... Due to upload restraints will need multiple posts.

So here is the route I took: Redding, CA >> Burns, OR >> Grangeville, OR >> Missoula, MT >> Kalispell, MT >> Calgary Canada
Somewhere in Northern California:
Hells Canyon, Idaho:
Coming into Grangeville, ID:

Continuing, trying to make it to Missoula through one of the canyons:
Overnighted in Missoula, then next morning this is Flathead Lake on the way upto Kalispell, MT
Leaving Kalispell trying to get over the mountains to the East
This is trying to get through the pass at "Going to the sun mountain".... Had to turn around and try another route

So here are the failed routes trying to get thru---aee the top part by the "going to the sun mountain:

Stayed in Kalispell then for 3 full days waiting on weather window:

Superbowl is tomorrow---lots of high rollers in town, which means charters....

Oneself waiting on some prominent "Sports A listers" to deplane and be escorted to running helicopter, and yes, that is a coffee machine in the back....

I was interested to see the passenger compartment. What is the noise level like back there? Is it possible to converse without the headsets?

No lucky gnomes in sight! Do you fly that wonderful machine from the left hand seat?

The blank ADI intrigues me, never seen one like that before.
