More coaching required on hovering.
That one looks like it would have benefited from significantly less coaching.

It’s a 2009 incident. The R22 was landing at a private flying club on the site of Hong Kong’s former Kai Tak airport. It’s a confined area and he was doing a downwind approach due to nearby obstacles. He had already gone around from one approach. The wind was east-southeast 16-17 knots gusting 21 and he did his approaches heading northwest. He experienced Loss of Tail Rotor Effectiveness during a go around from his second approach and the helicopter started spinning. The pilot had just over 300 hours total time, 200 hours of which were on the R22. The bus was parked when he hit it. Two on board the R22 and the bus driver had minor injuries.

You right! Oops I thought R22 but typed R44. The onset of senility on my part perhaps.

I posted this some years ago in The Ever Growing Helo Photos thread but it begs some captions......mine for a starter:

Westland Wessex, 9/10 mermaids prefer to be rescued by their crews!

She swooned when she saw the size of my chopper.
