Early reports of a helicopter crash at about 1300 near Avoch on the Black Isle but thankfully nobody was taken to hospital as a result. No details yet of the type.
Helicopter crash on the Black isle
Update - seems to have been a gyrocopter
BBC News
Update 2 - The Sun and Press&Journal now saying one feared dead. EDIT: Scottish Ambulance Service confirms no-one was taken to hospital. Thought to be a Cavalon gyrocopter, AAIB enroute:

What a smart looking machine C16! Better than the old 'fresh air' gyrocopters. I see it cruises at 78 knots for over 400 miles and 'only' costs 52,000 Euros! Better get a Lotto ticket.

BBC still reporting death of the pilot (sole occupant), as are other news media.CharlieOneSix wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 5:28 pmScottish Ambulance Service confirms no-one was taken to hospital.
Is it possible that the pilot was dead before the crash, or was trapped within the wreckage, therefore no need for hospital?

Confirmed that the pilot was killed (or dead) sadly.

Ex school friend is a gyrocopter instructor and took me up in his RAF2000 when I had an opportunity to take the controls back in South Africa a couple of years back. Actually easier to fly than a fixed wing light aircraft and far more fun but the RAF2000 has a bit of a grisly reputation sadly.PHXPhlyer wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 8:03 pmCavalon
