CHC and Babcock merger raises concerns

#1 Post by CharlieOneSix » Thu Nov 18, 2021 1:34 pm

The Competition and Markets Authority basically says that the reduction to three operators could lead to higher prices and lower quality services for customers. I don't follow the latter part of that. It has always been a race to the bottom on contract prices and made worse with four operators as less of the contract pie has been available to each operator. Going back to three operators would hopefully make contract prices a bit higher and should result in a higher quality service for the oil/gas customers.

Agree 100% C16. The oil companies always went for the cheapest option, which meant the cheapest service as the operators trimmed everything to the bone. The oil companies only really paid lip service to 'safety' until there was a problem.
