The Link trainer thread elsewhere, got me to thinking about helicopter training aids that led me to this...
The Cicare story is an interesting one, but the blind link to the company's Argentine registered website doesn't give one much hope that it is still extant. The absence of the training aid at helicopter schools also tells a story I guess
Edited - I am happy to be proved wrong. They are very much alive in Mesa Arizona.

Stop already..... You want to learn to fly a helicopter...???? Really???
Forget all the aids and all the stupid helicopters attached to the ground..
Get in a real helicopter with a real pilot....
Myself or many others here could teach you in real world world actual flying in less time...

Life may not be the party you hoped for, but while you're here, you may as well dance.

Yep, I have gone the experienced instructor, real aircraft route and it is working for me. I guess what piqued my interest here was the idea that one might be able to get those first 10 or so hours in at a much lower cost. Something that would be attractive to a young guy or girl, long on helicopter aspiration but short of cash!G~Man wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 7:56 amStop already..... Your point is, I guess, that short-changing your training programme in some half-baked "simulator" up front results in paying at the back end because you will still need the input of the sagacious, experienced pilot, like yourself, and others here, in a real helicopter!

Yep, and that time on that "simulator" cannot be logged as far as I know.....especially not for the 20 hours required to solo a Robinson product.
