A Pawan Hans Helicopters (PHHL) Sikorsky S-76D, carrying 2 pilots and 7 passengers, ditched in the Arabian Sea, near ONGC jack-up rig Sagar Kiran, 60 nautical miles west of Mumbai.
Four occupants died and five were rescued and the helicopter sank.

It was apparently new to Pawan Hans but previously owned by a Thai company. Injured people were 'pulled from the aircraft' but no clue in the after crash confusion whether they were drowned or died from injuries. My guess is the former as it was still afloat so the floats had worked (or enough of them had worked to) keep it on the surface but maybe inverted.
