Try this with a conventional tail rotor....!

#1 Post by CharlieOneSix » Wed Oct 04, 2023 9:18 am

A helicopter hit a palm tree in Huntington Beach California. This was one of several helicopters that landed for a car show called Cars and Copters. A lucky guy with a fenestron instead of a conventional tail rotor. Hope he checks the tail boom attachment bolts when he lands.........

Who thought that would be a good place to land a helicopter?

Couldn't see the helipad for the palm trees.

What was this guy thinking of? Confucius say that man looking for translational lift on a narrow leafy lane, soon comes before great fall!

I was intrigued so I looked it up. Sorry to see there was one fatality. He was low on power apparently. It looks like he should have put it down in situ when the lack of power became evident.
