Ministry of Peace and Truth
The honestly named War Office morphed into an Orwellian coalescence of the Ministry of Truth and the Ministry of Peace.
The latest pronouncement from Main Building declares that the RAF killed or injured 4,315 enemy fighters in Iraq and Syria between September 2014 and January this year. The Ministry of Truth/Peace claims that they have only killed one civilian.
A ratio of 4,315:1 ( 0.023%) is incredible. Quite literally incredible.
Even the Septics are slightly less dishonest than that. They admit to having slaughtered 1,190 civilians in 269 separate incidents, with a further 249 civilians injured. That civilian death toll quite certainly understates reality by at least one or two orders of magnitude, but it's less incredible than the utter gobshite from The Ministry of Peace and Truth.
The telling of lies has become so ingrained in the day to day modus operandi of the MoD and FCO and HO that very little of what they say has an real credibility.

Maybe this will explain what’s going wrong in the hallowed corridors of the MoD?
I presume the same intellectual Ebola virus has spread to the RAF and what’s left of the Royal Navy as well?

I cannot imagine how the Armed Forces are going to function, even if they managed to recruit the numbers they want.
What with all the 'diversity' that is required, racially, religiously, gender-wise et al how in hell's name are they going to train recruits that they can't shout at, discipline etc etc.
Leave for partners of any gender having kids . . . what uniform are they going to wear . . . which dorm to they sleep in . . . . counsellors outweighing the numbers of recruits due to the necessity of safe-guarding the poor darlings' feelings. Time off to complete their Facebook and Twitter obligations.
WTF has happened to this country ([dis]UK)

When the Iranians are descending onto your deck in seconds, your Navy is only an hour away.
But don't worry, the Foreign Secretary will have a strong word with the Iranian Ambassador, and he will not be offered biscuits not even Rich Teas!!!

Presumably the oil companies therefore their shippers could afford to immediately deploy private ex-mil security folks with a brace or two of .50 calibre rifles aboard vulnerable ships as in the Somalian pirate theatre.
I don’t think a helo at close range is the place to be with half-inch slugs whizzing through and as for the Iranian National Guard aluminium boats it would be a turkey shoot.
Much cheaper and quicker than relying on a multi million pound frigate thrashing its engines in the vain attempt to reach the action.
And to those who cry “escalation” what would said warship do if the Iranians continued their boarding and hijacking?

Now they’re in the deep & smelly ‘cos they can’t run a nuclear weapons program within budget and on time.
Who would have imagined it?

Don’t worry, this man that we all voted for is on the case
But the criticisms will likely catch the attention of the prime minister's chief special adviser, Dominic Cummings, who wants to overhaul the way the MoD buys military equipment.
Mr Cummings, who has been a harsh critic of defence procurement, has already held talks with Defence Secretary Ben Wallace about ways of tackling waste.
When all else fails, read the instructions.

Re: Ministry of Peace and Truth
How many ships & ‘boats’ have we got and how many admirals?
How many operational squadrons have we got and how many Air Commodes and above?
How many infantry regiments & suitable kit.....you get the message.
Who in their right mind is signing the contracts for equipment and recruiting and then changing specifications halfway through the procurement process thinking everyone below them will “jump to it” without question and without extra cost.
Cummings’ description of the people he wants to recruit might well be a lowly serviceman’s description of MoD occupants!

BM, a friend of mine, after becoming a station commander was posted to SHAPE. Some years later he retired from SHAPE as an AVM. He then got a well paid Government job for at least 5 years to eeK out his meagre pension.

At one time, Coastal Command had more officers of the rank of Group Captain and above, than it had aircraft.
