Should have been inverted, or would that have been 'Paignton' the wrong picture........?.

Re: Red under Paignton Pier
Very droll boac.
Surprised that it was authorised. Any ideas what level that would have had to go to?
Do not understand who the pilot Squadron Leader Ebrill yn Gyntaf is. He is not mentioned as being on the team this year. Must have been a change.

Re: Red under Paignton Pier
A million years ago, shared "digs" with a recently demobbed RAF pilot who told me the story of one of his mates, flying a Meteor I think, who was reported to the Sqd. Cmdr. by a south coast Piermaster for low flying just off the end of the pier. The Sqd, Cmdr. asked how low the aircraft was ? Not sure said the Piermaster, but I was looking down on him. Well, continued the Sqd. Cmdr. our pilots are encouraged to practice low flying, but I agree we should have given you some notice. OK said the Piermaster, I guess low flying practice is OK, but this guy was upside down !Should have been inverted,
Apparently said pilot had also painted on the top of his Bone Dome ... Dig Here.

Hey that looks like fun!
Who do I apply to in order to do the same in a PA-18 inverted? Or just go do it on the sly?
Highest I could manage would be 120kt upside down at full bore before the donk cuts out.
PS: as a civvy would Elfin Safety require me to wear a bone dome?

- SORRY but I have to respond "About 3 feet"..... (ok, I have disciplined myself )Ex-A wrote:Any ideas what level that would have had to go to
The new pilot is a recruit from the Viet-Taff Air Force to assist with MOD's racial integration policy and was briefed by MOD to 'get the low-down' on aspects of suspected indisciplined flying among the pilots. This comes from a 'leek' at Adastral House who has decided to Welch on an agreement.....
There - I'm feeling better now
