French authorities say a Belgian F-16 fighter jet has crashed in a populated area in western France and one of its pilots is caught on a high-voltage electricity line.
Seriously, though, you have to hope he did not contact the earth and live wires at the same time as he 'passed through'!
Must have been a bit of a shock

Re: Must have been a bit of a shock
The canopy line material is normally dacron, so hopefully he's OK. I have read of parachutists being electrocuted on 12kV lines carried on poles, but the transmission lines on the big pylons are normally too far apart to contact two of different phases at the same time. This guy got away with it

Let's hope even the French know to turn off the electrickery before they put a basket up to rescue him.

There is now confirmation that zee amazing rescue has been safely completed - I wonder if they used a step-down transformer?
Ok, Ok.
