Defence secretary rejects move to allow soldiers to wear make-up

#1 Post by Capetonian » Sun Sep 29, 2019 5:07 pm

Soldiers will only be allowed to wear make-up as long as it is for camouflage, the Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has declared, amid claims that the ban on cosmetics may be lifted.

Speaking at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, Mr Wallace dismissed the idea of male soldiers being granted equality with women over the use of make-up.

Ha ha! Can’t read the full Telegraph thing but it looks like a good script for Blackadder and Dad’s Army.

Don't know if it is still the case but all Lady Officers in the Royal Air Force had to wear make up unless in combat. It had to be regulation make up of course.

I went through training with a NR officer. He became the most high ranking NR in the Royal Air Force. Doing stupid night field combat exercises we were told to black up. He told the Sgt that he was already black =)) Great guy, we were instructed to crawl behind bushes and things in the mud. He would just wander behind as if he was on a Sunday afternoon walk.
'Yes, Madam, I am drunk, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.' Sir Winston Churchill.

Ex-A, in days of old when cold weather flying jackets were long and dark grey, we were on Salisbury plain. It was a dark night and we were all invisible except for white starlit faces, all that is except for Aweuvery (sic) a Ghanaian student. His grey jacket was the brightest thing about him.

"Where are you Aeeuvery, smile you bastard, smile" and a great gleaming pair of gnashers revealed his position .

In view of Trudeau's 'little difficulty', I suspect blacking one's face for night work will soon be ruled out as non-PC.

A serious discussion on gays in the military follows shortly. Caution contains sexual references which some snowflakes will find offensive;

GOOD ! !

Lovely double entendre in the title too!! =))
