New weaponry

#1 Post by ricardian » Tue Feb 18, 2020 12:39 pm

Artificial intelligence and UAV, rather scary video.
I do wonder how they cope with directed pulses of very high EMF?

I rather think their ability might evade that. There is one defence, hole up in a building. However a kill is still a kill. In the case of being marooned in a bunker you achieve a mobility kill and possibly a fire power kill.

Spy in the Sky is few years old now so technology has moved on, but it used micro insect drones to spy on suspects. They didn't use AI or possess a kill function but why not now?

Pretty old hat stuff. We've had mozzies here pre-loaded with Dengue fever for years. Just concentrate on the facial features of intended target, and mozzie will do a seek and destroy. Deliberately chosen for a three day fever actuation to avoid detection. Squash one of our mozzies on your skin and check the fluid. Blood probably natural, hydraulic fluid - one of ours.

P N, I believe it was “Eye in the Sky”, with Helen Mirren and the late Alan Rickman.

Just in case anyone goes chasing a great film. Thrilling watch, especially if one puts oneself in the hot seat with the decision whether or not to ‘take the shot’?

To those of us who’ve served time in the UK military, they’ve had it coming for a VERY long time;

'Lamentable' defence spending decisions attacked by MPs https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-53411966

The waste of taxpayers’ hard-earned dosh over decades has been obvious to all with any neurons to rub together. The prospect of the Rottweiler Cummings sinking his teeth into the arses of the Air Commodes and the superfluous Admirables must be an attractive prospect for many, both within and outside the services.

We can but hope any reforms initiated by him and the other attack dogs will not damage the task but maybe free up some desperately needed resources. But I’m not holding my breath for a positive outcome.

BM, I hope they get it right then.

With hindsight were they right chopping Sea Harrier, Jaguar, Harrier and Nimrod programmes with a big axe?

At least the other programmes seemed to have a proper transitional upgrade.

P N, I was always convinced those cancelled projects were implemented and signed off by someone who definitely did NOT have the effectiveness of the UK military forces as a top priority.

At the time and since I have suspected they were in the pay of, or on the ends of, the Moscow and/or Beijing puppet strings. The action was not far short of treason, for which I am working on a suitable reward!

And even MSM lunchtime today broadcasting just how deep in the mire the UK is with Chinese major infrastructure projects. Just who in their right minds signed off nuclear power stations into the welcoming arms of the Chinese? There are many other projects or facilities owned and managed by them about which we have heard zilch.

Step forwards messrs Cameron and Osborne, to name but 2 of the architects and promoters of the great Sino-UK economic alliance but who are probably maintaining a diplomatic silence on that pipe dream. ~X(

And now for something completely different, a man dressed in combat fatigues, sitting on the old USSR v NATO Border, with a laptop plus wi-fi and facing the armoured might of Putin’s boys and girls in gigantic tracked self-propelled guns (tanks);

British Army could axe ageing tanks as part of modernisation plans https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53909087

Some time later, at an Army base near you, the following scene plays out;

Sleep softly folks, the successor to Gavin Son-of-William is taking care of us all! =))

Cummings is an unabashed Russophile and , doubtless, is a fan of the poisoner, and possible pervert, Putin!

The Gooks are in the compound and Cummings is the name of their game!

Ah, but with modern weaponry a couple of key presses can take control of the Russian armour, turn their guns on each other and...

What could possibly go wrong

EXCEPTION Error. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot.

Or more likely the BSOD will appear, possibly without any “contact your administrator” message? Then what...?

Repeatedly pressing F12 to reboot, providing they’re polished of course...!

Gutless generals, seeing which way the wind is blowing, protecting their pensions.
The British Army could be cut by more than a quarter under spending review plans dawn up by defence chiefs, it has been reported. Up to 20,000 troops could be let go, while airfields are closed and helicopters are taken out of service. The Royal Marines commando brigade may also be disbanded and Royal Navy minesweepers could also be axed. According to the leaked spending plan is part of Boris Johnson’s Dominic Cummings's defence and security review set to be revealed in the autumn.
