A bit of a "hot" area at the moment. Either jammed by the Russians or did he suppress his own electronic signature, no squawk etc? What are the usual military procedures in this area?

No idea. If the mission was 'exploratory' he may have switched to modes 1 & 2 only although the airspace is fully open to civvy traffic. Could just be a glitch with the ADS-B system.

He disappeared whilst descending through 6000ft. As Boac says, probably a glitch with the ADS-B system. I doubt whether there is a plethora of ground stations in that part of the world so low level data might be sparse. I thought it odd that an RAF Typhoon would be operating there as a singleton - no wingman or tanker - but we all know not to take FR24 data as gospel.

In the olden days it wasn't that unusual to have only one aircraft in a formation squawking.

Local Air Force used (still use?) to deactivate the ADS-B data until in some attitude and just before landing - I could still other aircraft landing in the airports in question.
