I have just seen the latest 7 ship list and am now uncertain as to who or what happened! More 'intel' needed.

While the former Red8 has moved to the 4 slot, the former Red5 has NOT remained in place (which would be the simpler option), but been replaced by the former Red9. The 'new' Red5 (ex Red9 - keeping up?) is now on his 4th tour with the team, but had flown 2 of those years as Red5. The 'old' Red5 was in his 3rd year with the team and in his first season as Red5. More to this than meets the eye.

Come on this has been going on for some time now. We know who it is but what did he do? It must have been pretty serious.

We should open a book on it. Bonk the Greek station commander's wife?

Bearing in mind it was in Greece, maybe the Station Commander, (or son) - not his wife? :))

In view of the 'repositioning' I mentioned above, I need to reserve judgement now, I think, as to whether t'wer 4 OR 5.

I do not know why the Greeks have that reputation. Never met a Greek woofter. Most have a wife and a couple of mistresses. Told Mrs We-Ascot when we moved there that I would really like to get into the Greek culture. My lead is kept at the port for our arrival on the island.

When I was a young man (1965), I encountered a group of similarly-aged Greek youths in the UK who made it clear that male-to-male relationships were not seen as undesirable (whilst not seeking to openly engage in the behaviour amongst my experience).

Akis and Spiros IIRC.

AH! but it is history, Sir. The only form of true love according to the ancient Geeks was a boy. I quote
Greek love was love between a boy, typically adolescent, and an older adolescent or man. It is called Greek because it was most famously practised in ancient Greece, where it was called paiderastia, formed from paidos, "of a boy", and erastia, "love".

I appreciate that Latin might be defined as part of the classics, but how did the Isle of Man TT get involved with this erudite dialectic as to what some RAF miscreant(s) may or may not have done within the context of the Greek tradition, whatever the language (even of love) that was being spoken or written at the time? =))

Seen as this was the RAF, surely we are talking of philia, or filial love. That love shared between blood bothers and those who are brothers in arms, and not in anybody else's arms! :))

I recall two Jaguar pilots being found in bed together.

Reminds me of the Jaguar Squadron boss's welcome interview with new pilots -

Boss: Carruthers - I'd like to outline our pilots' social programme. Monday night we get rip-roaring drunk in the mess and finish up vomiting on the visitors' book

Carruthers: Gulp

Boss: You're not a tee-totaller are you?

Carruthers: Good Lord, no, Sir

Boss: Good. Tuesday night we get in the minibus and go down and try to bed all the girls in the local teacher training college.

Carruthers: Gulp

Boss: You're not one of those 'womens' rights' idiots, are you?

Carruthers: No, Sir!

Boss: Your not queer, by any chance, are you, Carruthers?

Carruthers: No, Sir!

Boss: Oh dear - you won't enjoy Wednesday night, then.

Come on, it has been some time now. There must be some intel out there. They can't keep it this secret.

The choice of Ovis aries or Capra aegagrus hircus was made by ex-A in post #11, and we all assumed he must have had 'inside' knowledge. =))

Nope and I must remind everyone that RiS was the closest to the action. Come on mate, get you sleuth hat on.
