Might have been the other side of the mountains - New Guinea, but our side Papua we would dole out tins of piss to locals for helping unload and shift cargo. Always carried a few cans down the back for that purpose, and that was in 1970.

DD, aka Dennis Douglas, imported a few hundred of these handing them out at will. It was a prized possession to many of the locals who used to hang them on a piece of vine around their necks. If you were the only person in the village with one then you got the first swig at the can as payment for it's use.

We had a canopener like that in my parents place but unfortunately it went AWOL several years back.

CityofFlight, I am fairly sure I remember you. In any case welcome here.

He got lost in the move? Sheesh. He must have been in the US Army. :D :D :ymdevil: :ymdevil:

Must be time to awaken this thread again. Anyone seen Mr Banana lately?

One has a feeling the list will grow rapidly due to current events here...
Reasons for being banned to date:-

1. Espousing extreme views
2. PITA, (love this one)...

Hopefully not. Hopefully people won’t let a tiff spoil the party and that all are able to be adult enough to get over it.

Agree, hopefully not.

Everyone has tiff's in life, I don't think that should be the reason to spit the dummy and leave.

Has MA fallen too far off his bar stool or is he having an 'Admin break'? He has gone off frequency following his last garbled transmission.

No he is back on frequency after tea and biscuits with his own conscience. Operational advice & lesson taken. a) Don't go anywhere near Trump subject when sober. b) Place oneself in padded cell while drinking or don't post anything while on or just after falling off bat stool and always follow advice in a) at all times.

I felt overly inclined to take Clive James's advice to Hilary Clinton literally on Friday night... (easily done after two bottles off Cabernet Sauvignon)...

Joyride has been absent for a while. He posted in TOP this week. Busy with his massive hose/studio move and his father passed away recently. Condolences JR :YMHUG: and I hope you return when your life calms down. Enjoy the concert :-bd
