Re: MIA's
Now, as for the anti-Ranger sentiments as expressed by the usual culprits: I have three fingers extended in the air. Virtually for y'all. Read the middle one. And then eat *****. (And 500N, you have jack ***** to say seeing as you like a little pineapple with your piglet. Doesn't get more girly than that, does it? )
As for my son. Yes, he took off last Tuesday - one week ago today - for his all expenses paid tour of the land of the rising sun, also known as Nippon but more commonly referred to as Japan. And, yes, he is on CVN-76, aka the USS Ronald Reagan. And although I wasn't exactly enthralled by his decision early last year to enlist in the Navy, I am proud of him for choosing service to this country in lieu of attending college/university. (Which he will do at some point.) He had a choice of serving or going to school but chose the former. That alone speaks volumes. In my mind anyway. Oh, and what does he do on the Reagan, one might ask? He's an AO or Aircraft Ordnanceman. Which means he calibrates, loads and unloads bombs, missiles and other weapons of destruction from the air wings on the carrier. He is also responsible for calibrating aircraft instrumentation. So I guess being an AO is a bit more learned, if you will, than either an Army artilleryman or infantryman!!!

Welcome Dak Man. I always missed you on the other side. Did they ever tell'ya why they bounced you?
BTW, if you have any extra snow, as I know you will, Mr. RGB will give us his forwarding address on Powley island so we know where to send it.
Thanks Dushy.
When the WoE thread became a bit fractious I offered one of my forums as an alternative - I assume I was banned for that.
Japanese snow for me as of 1st October'' be doing my best to avoid Semen Brock , all went tit's up in May in Toronto (workwise) work permit expired before residency granted so I had a "clear your desk immediately" directive - wankers at P&WC dropped the ball with the paperwork which left me high and dry. Have taken a short term contract in UK in the interim and commuting Canada - UK every 3-4 weeks, it's a bitch but needs must.

Re: MIA's
Wish we could get Chimbu Chuckles on here but he has done a disappearing act from not only the other place but another site as well. No idea why either.
Tinpis would also be a welcome addition IMHO but I fear that he is not well, from what I have heard.

You only live twice. Once when you're born. Once when you've looked death in the face.
Re: MIA's
Chatted with both about the country up North once known as TPNG and those that were there - DD and malarial tours. Would be nice to see Tinpis and Chimbu here.

Keef What we need is RatherBeGardening. Some technical advice I need, already.
Indeed Sir, I have just said this on the gardening thread.

Re: MIA's
I sent him the usual picture PM and had the following response ;
"I am currently too busy to contemplate regular monitoring of another forum, though I appreciate the invitation and will bear it in mind if necessary.
I have other interests that I cannot sustain as I would wish.

Re: MIA's
Did get some strange responses such as ;
"Thanks, Wodrick, but no thanks. I had a quick lookin and all the people who made me most uncomfortable in Pprune seem to be there. Absolutely nothing personal, but there are quite some names there who I would cross the street to avoid."
Guess they won't be joining in then

Wodrick, you weren't supposed to sent it to Rob the Mad Mod.
Because they stand on the wall and say "nothing's gonna hurt you tonight, not on my watch".
